 We will present two duets:

Sleepers is inspired by the Walt Whitman poem from his 1900 collection Leaves of Grass. Set to a reading of the poem, this tender duet uses breathtaking acrobatics and exquisite, unexpected shapes of strength to explore how extraordinary and magical moments can be found in ordinary, prosaic experiences.

Purple Mist is an intimate acrobatic duet, suspended between tenderness and power. A sound score (created by Zoë Klein) of high winds and thawing snow turns to thunderous misty rain as a man struggles over the loss of his dearest love. Combining partner balancing with fluid flips, cyclical explosions and tender caresses, Purple Mist evokes the fog of memory and the solidity of passion between lovers.

APAP 2010 Showcase @ CITY CENTER

PARADIZO DANCE pushes the boundaries of both artistry and ability in their multi-themed repertoire of acrobatic dance works. Sculptural movement, intimate partnering and heart-stopping acrobatics are the palette for emotional expression. And audiences cheered their now-famous strength and virtuosity on  NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” (2009 Semi-Finalists!).
APAP is the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) Conference.
The APAP Conference runs from Friday January 8- Tuesday January 12, 2010. APAP brings together dance presenters and cultural professionals from all over the world to hear about new trends, to discuss the performing arts, and to see exciting artistic work live as they scout for the perfect fit for their stages.
This is an incomparable opportunity for choreographers and dancers to gain exposure to a wide variety of performing arts presenters, managers and promoters.
