This year, 11 members of the M.S.88 Acro-Salsa Team performed at the Connecticut Salsa Congress.  This was their second congress since 2006 performance at Boston Congress.

This group loves their time together and their extra time with their literacy teacher whom they call Mr. Paris.  The team of 25 kids love to throw each other around and have fun wednesdays after school.

With gymnastic mats in Mr. Paris’ classroom, often the students are practicing salsa, handstands, or acrobatic techniques during their free time.

This team is not about performing to perfection, but about spending a great time together and supporting each other’s growth as everyone learns new ideas about themselves physically or emotionally.
Once in costume, everyone practices for the big show with 15 mins until show time.

Brittany and Nelly hanging out, not minding that the show is starting late...
While many of the team members graduate from 7th to 8th, and then 8th to a new high school entirely, the team still grows, and continues.

Stay tuned for the MS 88 Acro-Salsa Team’s next overnight Salsa Congress Trip in 2009 !

More to come...
