Marrakech Salsa Festival 2009

Marrakech was beautiful!  After a flight from New York to Paris, Paris to Cassablanca we were picked up and driven 2.5 hrs through desert landscape to the Palmeraie Village resort.  There we stayed in beautiful accommodations with hand carved tile, high ceilings, arched doorways and carved wooden ceilings.  Delicious food, beautiful people, and lots of salsa dancing late into the night!

  1. Our classes were packed and this time Zoë translated everything into French!
  2.
  3. Our performances were well received with many people blown away by Zoë’s strength to be able to lift Dave (“Finally they noticed!” says Zoë)
  4.
  5. Shopping for a few hours with Hacha Y Machete was definitely a highlight.  We all brought back lanterns, spices, trinkets, and great memories!
  6.
  7. We had the pleasure of meeting Hamidine from Marseille, France and Youseff our favorite friend who drove us around the event and made us feel so welcome.
  8.
  9. And we shared a happy birthday to Tomas, who’s birthday was celebrated with cake at the Niki Beach festival after party.
